Jewish Education
The Honickman Foundation is proud to support two Jewish Day Schools in the Philadelphia area: OROT, which is dedicated to children with special needs and the Perelman Jewish Day School, which provides a mainstream, values-based academic program.
OROT for Kids
OROT is a program in multiple Jewish day schools throughout the Philadelphia area that supports special needs education for those children whose needs cannot be met by a resource room. In conjunction with host schools, OROT sets policy, creates and supervises programs, provides financial support, and advocates for the services provided to children with special needs.
OROT seeks to provide the best possible individualized Jewish, secular and social curriculum, instruction and environment in order to make it possible for all children to receive a Jewish day school education...in a setting that meets the needs of the individual child.
Raymond and Ruth Perelman Jewish Day School
The Honickman Foundation is proud to support the Raymond and Ruth Perelman Jewish Day School. Serving over 600 students, K-8, in three centers located on two beautiful campuses in Wynnewood and Melrose Park, the school's mission is to develop confident, accomplished and compassionate graduates who have a sound understanding of their history and culture. Perelman seeks to achieve its goal through a rigorous academic program integrated with a solid values-based Jewish education.
