MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance)

Extending support to the nutritional well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life threatening illnesses, The Honickman Foundation commits resources to Philadelphia-based MANNA.

Formed in 1990 by members of the First Presbyterian Church of Philadelphia, MANNA is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization that provides essential and specialized services to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illness.

A small professional staff and 1,000 dedicated volunteers — drawn from all walks of life — bring over 40,000 nutritious, freshly prepared, home-delivered meals each month to individuals and families living with a life-threatening illness.

MANNA dieticians promote wellness through nutrition education and counseling. Through these services, MANNA provides opportunities for caring people to extend loving support to families, friends, and neighbors living in the Delaware Valley who are at acute nutritional risk.

The Honickman Foundation has also supported and continues to support other AIDS organizations including: Incarnation Children's Center, International Family AIDS Program/Columbia University and Sparrow Ministries.
