Taking a stand against gun violence in the courtroom
Courtwatch is a CeaseFirePA program that brings community members into the courtroom to observe sentencing hearings in illegal gun possession and trafficking cases. When permitted by the judge, these individuals testify about how they and their communities have been affected by gun violence. It gives community members a voice, provides critical evidence for the judge to weigh when considering sentencing—and, most importantly, it lets the judges know we expect them to enforce the law.
